Tone Film (formerly Pitch Black Films) is an independent film production and post production company run by writer, director, producer, editor, colourist, VFX artist & photographer JP Davidson.
JP has more than twenty years experience in post production & production on features, documentaries, drama, music videos and film marketing.
JP started his career in London's post production industry where he became a sought after offline and online editor and colourist. After more than ten years in-house for various facilities in London and Sydney JP went freelance to spend more time developing his own projects. Over the next ten years JP built a reputation for quality editing, grading and VFX on numerous features, dramas, documentaries, music videos and trailers while also writing screenplays. In 2013 JP was approached by a producer to develop a feature length script with the chance to direct the film. God's Acre was completed in 2015 and was nominated for best UK feature at Raindance, long listed for a BIFA and has appeared in multiple international festivals receiving many positive reviews.
JP continues to write, develop and shoot feature and documentary projects including development of his next feature film 'The Cull'.
